I love telling you the news. That's what you'll find on my site...NEWS! But here, it's more of a friend to friend story and with more than a minute and 20 seconds to tell you what happened today. My name is Alex de Armas (it's really Alexandra). I'm currently a part-time reporter for WCJB TV 20, the ABC affiliate in Gainesville, Florida. I'm also a full-time student at the University of Florida, with the plans to graduate in May. I anchor and produce the student newscast, WUFT TV First at Five, a PBS affiliate. I also report for the University’s radio newscast, Florida’s 89.1 WUFT FM, a NPR affiliate.

I've been learning and practicing journalism for the past six years. Yup, since I was a junior in high school. What can I say? I love journalism! I've interviewed many prestigious people including former United States Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, Former Pentagon Spokeswoman Victoria Clarke, Journalist and Political Correspondent Larry Kane. I've also interviewed NBA Miami Heat Players Dwyane Wade, Mario Chalmers, and Juwan Howard. Oh and of course actress Gabrielle Union, and Grammy-Award winner Jon Secada. Do I do anything else other than report or watch the news? Of course! I LOVE spending time with my family and friends. I love having my grandmother's homemade Cuban meals and being in me busy and loud Hispanic home in Miami. I love to dance and travel to new places.

Now that I've told you my life long story...I want to get to the good stuff. I want to tell you what happened in my tv stories that didn't fit in my one minute and 20 seconds. I want to tell you the NEWS FROM BEHIND THE CAMERA.
